Feature Request / Re: Delay between zones
« on: September 02, 2014, 10:25:00 pm »
If you have to change the delay value a lot, then it makes sense to implement it at the programs.  But if you hardly have to change then it makes more sense to make it a global value so that you don't have to enter it again every time you create a program.

What are your solenoids rating?  What about the newer solenoids?  Do they exhibit the same problem?

How does it go since you move to another terminal?

Are you sure that it's the solenoid problem?  Is it a different one of the same one?  I can't speak for what kind of solenoid you have, but we have not had any report of a controller breaking a solenoid.  All the controller does is feeds 24V AC to turn it on.

Would you prefer the delay value to be set globally or per program?
The global setting would delay x minutes after every zone has run. Per program offers the flexibility of varying the interval for each run, or is it really necessary?

What is the firmware version of your controller?

Help / Re: Where do I download app for iPhone

Accessing from phone or computer or tablet, you'd use the same URL on any browser.  The UI auto detects your device.  If it detects a large screen device (tablet, computer), it redirects to /main.  If it detects small screen, it directs to /mob.  You can force it to go to either one by just replacing the after / part.

There is no app to install.  Just use your phone's browser and access it the same way you would with your computer.

Excellent idea.
We're monitoring the advance of browser technology closely.  It seems that its direction is HTML5, SVG.  With SVG, you'll possibly have the option of drawing or sketching on the screen.

Don't forget to set or reserve a static IP address for the controller.
On most routers, you can view attached devices, then select the device with the controller's IP address, and set the static IP address.

Help / Re: Mobile Web-App: Water Now, can't set zone run time
« on: August 18, 2014, 10:36:58 pm »
There is a bug on the phone interface for manual run.  You should use Settings->Zones, then click on the water drop of the zone you want to water.

We'll have it fixed in the next firmware release.

Does Hunter allow master valve activation per zone?  Just want to see a use case.

We'll take your point into consideration, and others as well.
Is there any controller out there you know that does something like this?

But since a program is a collection of group of zones, applying the master here would be more flexible to some folks who want to turn it on for multiple zones or different combination of zones.

I think either way would work, but we'd like to implement something that appeals to the masses.

Feature Request / Re: Adjusting Duration based on Weather data?
« on: August 17, 2014, 03:59:23 pm »
How would this be applied?  On the day that it's supposed to water?  That won't be accurate because the previous days or subsequent days might return to normal or colder or hotter.  Whichever way you guess, you'll be wrong.  On average?  That's what Et does and it also fails.

Weather guessing is very unreliable.  Even the weatherman doesn't get it right for the very next day.  Using it to guess again how much to water is even more unreliable.

We just haven't seen any weather based irrigation formula to be reliable.  Often it requires complex data that makes the system more difficult to use.  We think the future is in sensing technology.  The sensor technology is improving rapidly.  We think in the very near future, we will be able to incorporate soil sensors in order to water more accurately.
