This issue is so unresolvable that I will have to replace the controller with a more reliable product. Is this company even in business anymore?

Help / Can't find Bluespray WFI
« Last post by richca on April 10, 2025, 01:10:27 pm »
This is a reoccurring issue and has happened once again. I cannot connect to the controller via Wi-Fi.  The controller is not discoverable following the instructions provided. Email sent to support.  The blue light flashes but the controller is not accessible from the app or the internet.

1. Reset the controller (to make the controller forget the last wifi network):
  a. Locate the reset switch on the left side of the controller.
  b. Slide the switch down.  The amber light should flash once then pauses.
  c. When the amber light starts flashing again, let it flash 3-4 times then slide the switch up.
The controller is now reset.

2. Discovery mode
  a. Slide the reset switch down.  This time let the amber light flash all the way.
  b. When the amber light stops flashing, use your laptop or tablet and look for a hotspot named bluespray.
  c. Connect to the bluespray hotspot.
  d. Bring up a browser and type http://192.168.123.1 in your browser URL bar.
You should be able to see the BlueSpray UI.

3. Provision
  a. Click Settings->Network
  b. Click the blue wifi button next to the SSID field.  The controller will show a list of networks that it sees.  Find yours, select it, and click OK.
  c. Enter your wifi password in the Key field and click Save.
If you didn't mis-type the password, and your wifi signal is good, the controller should be able to connect to the router and tells you that it was successful.  If you did, reset and start over.

After successful provision, slide the switch up.  Connect your laptop/ipad back to your wifi network and type my.bluespray.net on the browser or you can log onto your account on our web site to access it.

Member Contributions / Sealing the Controller Opening
« Last post by JoeBobKing on March 27, 2025, 09:05:28 am »
I am mounting my controller in my garage, replacing the old Rainbird controller. Upon removal, I had a lot of bugs, spider webs etc everywhere inside and behind the unit. Years of environment exposure.... My mount of the BlueSpray will be made thru the back, not the bottom to hide the wires that exist thru the wall.. I needed to seal the hole, and the PERFECT option was to use 36mm Silicone plugs from amazon... 7.99 for two.

Does the Bluespray allow integration with home automation systems? I want to create a button on my wife's iPhone to execute (press) the Bluespray open/close the garage door? Thanks.

We have plan to implement backup and restore to the cloud, but I heard marketing is deciding whether it'll be a paid subscription service, since it'd be stored in the cloud.

Every time there's a firmware update, I look, but nothing yet.

So the huge positive of your hardware, and the reason I keep using/buying them, is that it's not cloud dependent.
Doing what marketing wants, making it a paid subscription for a bu feature, makes it a me too product, and not any better than the rest.
Keep an edge, make the back up and restore local, or cloud. you cover both crowds. And will keep people like me using your product. I hate the cloud.
I use a ton of Ubiquiti network hardware, cause one can go either way with it. Local or hosted cloud based.. user's choice. They have their corner of the market.

So when might we finally see a bu one can use (local) ?
