Mac Login Issues
« on: April 07, 2014, 07:54:02 pm »
Hi,

Have had the bluespray for a few weeks now and overall it is excellent. I have two questions:

1/ Every now and then I can not login from Safari on my Mac, the username/password is immediately refused. If I try from another device it works. Any clues as to what maybe wrong from the Mac config ? It does work sometimes ????

2/ Can you have more than one zone on at any one time ? When I manually turn on a second zone when one is already on the first zone gets turned off ?

By the way I have used a TP LINK outdoor wireless access point to get good WIFI signal to the controller as its some distance away and that works really well.

thanks,
Seedar.

1. Which login do you mean?  Login to your account on www.bluespray.net or your controller login?
2. Yes, you can.  By default, the controller runs in stack mode i.e. serially.  In this mode, only one zone is on at a time, for a reason: residential homes may not have enough pressure to operate more than 1 zone.  Operating more than 1 zone also requires more power.  Our power supply can handle more 2-3 zones at a time, but if you have a master valve, that's another zone.

If you want to turn on more than 1 zone, select "No" for stack mode.  For all practical purposes, we do not recommend this unless you really know what you're doing.

The controller's login is just basic authentication.  I think it's more likely just safari.  We will look into it to get more details.
What about other browsers such as chrome or firefox from Mac?

Safari on iPad seems ok, will experiment a little more and let you know what I find with other browsers.

thanks.

By the way I had some initial issues with WiFi and 802.11g would not work had to switch to 802.11b, does it support 802.11b only ?

The wifi mode is n & g.  How far away is the controller from the router?  Maybe it works for you in b because b range is better.

I will retest as I now have a much stronger signal with an outside access point specifically for the Bluespray. Will let you know.

Hmm... it's just basic HTTP authentication.  Evidently it works with other browsers, but we'll investigate the problem with safari.  Thanks.
